The 2007/08 workforce development and training brochure has been produced by MLA North West and Renaissance North West and outlines our programme of events taking place throughout the North West. We have also included details of training provided through the North West Federation of Museums and Art Galleries, whose work we are delighted to support.
The MLA Partnership’s three-year corporate plan aims to uphold both the intrinsic and instrumental value of museums, libraries and archives and support their sustainable development. Following the successful launch of the findings of " An Economic Valuation - Bolton's Museum, Library and Archive Services", MLA North West is pleased to announce the development of the Toolkit designed specifically to enable local authorities to carry out similar projects. The Toolkit is simple to use and demonstrates how the Contingent Valuation method can be used to good effect to illustrate the public value of museums, libraries and archives.
A flagship study untertaken by MLA North West and Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, 'An Economic Valuation' articulates in economic terms the qualitative and quantitative value placed on museums, libraries and archvies by those who use them, and those who do not but recognise their worth.
MLA North West recently commissioned a report into the challenges and barriers faced by archives in the North West attempting to embed Inspiring Learning for All. The findings are now available to download here along with recommendations on how MLA North West could best support the development of Inspiring Leaning for All in archives.
