Partnerships and Publications

Partnerships

Strategic partnerships are fundamental to the delivery of Renaissance North West. MLA North West and the Hub working to build new ways of working and collaborations to extend the benefit of Renaissance resources. Renaissance supports museums in Greater Manchester, Preston and Cumbria to increase their capacity to develop education, audience development and marketing initiatives, and their impact in terms of regional economic strategies

Renaissance is supporting these consortia, partnerships and networks to deliver initiatives including:

  • Literacy in primary schools
  • Early years
  • Initial teacher training
  • Secondary school resources
  • Strategic audience development
  • Heritage tourism development
  • Formal and informal learning
  • The Revealing Histories initiative
  • Museums and Galleries Month 2007
  • deliver regional collections care support.

Publications

Renaissance North West has published a series of documents that advocate for the projects and initiatives that we support. These are attached below and include:

  • A PDF toolkit that outlines how the Manchester Museums Consortium has developed a 'Pathways & Progession' programme for secondary school pupils.
  • An evaluation report that demonstrates the impact of the above programme.
  • A leaflet developed in partnership with Children’s Services about how teachers can work with museums and galleries to improve pupil’s literacy.
  • The research report that demonstrates the impact of the 'MAGPIE' (Museums And Galleries Project In Education) programme and how working with museums and galleries raises children's attainment at KS2.
  • A PDF document that outlines how museums and galleries in the North West and the South West are working in partnership with early years practitioners and the impact that this work has on the learning and development of young children.
